TANGO HIT AND RUN (AUGUST 31)

In some places it’s called “guerilla tango,” but in these Homeland Security-conscious days it’s more prudent to call it “Tango Hit and Run,” flash-mob-style public displays of the torrid Argentinean dance.

Along with hit-and-run tango comes an implicit invitation to bystanders to let loose their inner Gomez and Morticia Addams and join in. From 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, August 31, the Sparx in the City concert series fills the pavements of The Warehouse District with tango dancers and instructors for free displays and impromptu lessons.

Guest performers include a Cleveland Clinic urologist who goes by the name “Dr. Tango.”
