Street Beats Kicks Off June 7
Dr. Jeannette Potts, the Cleveland Clinic physician and holistic healer also known as Dr. Tango, will perform at the Sparx in the City launch party Thursday, June 7 on East 4th Street.
She will dance outside with special guest Jorge Niedas (below), of Tango 21 in Chicago, from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. The Sparx kick off party is open to the public and runs from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Several other live acts from this summer's Street Beats Concert Series will also perform.
The event celebrates the fifth year for Sparx, a downtown marketing initiative that stimulates commerce and vibrant street life in Cleveland by featuring regional artists. Sparx is a program of the Downtown Cleveland Alliance.
Dr. Tango was invited back to Sparx after performing for the first time last year. She will be the exclusive tango act in this season's line up. Dr. Tango will also dance with local partner David Palmer on August 23 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. on West 6th Street near The Metropolitan Cafe.
Sparx Street Beats, a series of 25 free concerts on the streets of downtown Cleveland, will take place on Thursdays and Fridays from June 7 to September 13. Click here for the show schedule.
